sofi
periphery of oneness

Concert

sofi, a.k.a. Sofia Zaiceva, is a multidisciplinary sound artist and performer from Latvia based in Helsinki. She focuses on experimental electronic music characterized by a technology-driven approach that prioritizes immersion.

Using improvisational and interactive methods, sofi’s performance aims to create two different “living organisms”: one manifested in code and the other embodied by the human performer. Inspired by the centuries-old Japanese art form of kintsugi, she offers a transformative perspective on moments of rupture, imperfection, and the ability to rebuild. The unpredictable nature of cross-feedback strands fosters a dialogue between the performer, the code (via the audio software SuperCollider), and the space, resulting in novel sonic, bodily, and kinetic experiences.
