Eve Aboulkheir
Venus Road

Concert

In her compositions, installations, and performances, French sound artist and composer Eve Aboulkheir explores the creation of immersive environments and multisensory experiences. By combining electroacoustic manipulations with field recordings and synthesized sounds, she creates ever-changing, ambiguous acousmatic landscapes.

She describes her new piece as follows: “Venus Road is the name of an avenue in the forest of the MacRichie Reservoir in Singapore, where I got lost one night with a friend. In the darkness, the sounds of the forest intensified, and we were overwhelmed. We could visualize everything, and this frightening experience took on a fantastic dimension. The piece develops around the memory of these experiences and their reveries. The field recordings and the synthesized sounds evolve together, refining, imitating, and parasitizing each other during this phantasmagorical journey.”
