Nobody wants to call themself a pacifist nowadays, but in times of wars like ours, people dream of peace. Some say that is naive and unpolitical. Can one give pacifism a chance?

Boris Buden is a philosopher and cultural critic. His work focuses on drastic, often violent historical transitions after the fall of 20th-century socialism and problems of cultural translation.

Eric Frey is a journalist and political scientist. He is chief subeditor for the Austrian newspaper Der Standard and was a correspondent for the Financial Times and the Economist. In 2014, he was one of the few public figures in Austria to speak out against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
