As a house of horrors showcasing failed ideas of the homeland, Horror Patriae is about attempts to define home, identity, and power. The narratives that result from the juxtaposition of historical works from the Universalmuseum Joanneum with contemporary works invites us to question how absurd “typical” ideas of home were and are.
