Alfred Schrötter von Kristelli (1851, Vienna, Austrian Empire–1935, Graz, Federal State of Austria) was a painter and art teacher. He was a respected member of the Munich art scene, where he studied and cofounded the Munich Secession. In 1900, Schrötter von Kristelli became head of the master class for painting at Graz’s drawing academy, remaining an esteemed member of the faculty until 1923. He saw himself as a modernist but remained largely rooted in tradition.
